Fotolia_18537441_XS.jpgEmily Kellerman began learning cello at a young age from Marsha Pendley, under the Suzuki method.  When she was 14, her family moved to Iowa, where she joined the studio of Dr. Janina Ehrlich, a professor at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL.  Emily has played with the Quad City Youth Symphony, the Augustana Symphony Orchestra, the Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra, the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis, and the St Paul Civic Orchestra.  She currently performs with the Mississippi Valley Orchestra, four concerts per year.  She has also joined small ensembles to perform at weddings and other formal events.

Emily has been teaching cello lessons since 2005, with students ranging from five years old to retired adults.  She believes it is never to late to start learning music if a student has an open mind and a commitment to practice.  Emily's personal experience with a variety of teaching methods has taught her that there is no right way to teach, and she adopts her teaching style to fit each student's disposition and musical goals.

Emily also makes and repairs violin-family instruments at Modern Day Music.
