Mikaela Marget

Mikaela Marget is a freelance improvisatory and classical cellist and teacher based in Minneapolis, MN. Mikaela graduated in 2018 with a B.Mus. from Lawrence University, where they studied classical cello performance, pedagogy, free improv, Deep Listening, Indonesian traditional music, folk, rock, and singer-songwriter music. They have participated in numerous festivals including the Decoda Chamber Music Festival and Silk Road’s Global musician workshop where they studied with Mike Block, Wu Man, and Bassam Saba. Recently, they’ve been involved in local projects with Spencer Tweedy, Nyttu Chongo, Ren Massie, Warren Thomas Fenzie, and Anat Spiegel.
They teach private cello lessons to students of all ages, with a focus on classical music and learning music by ear. They believe in allowing students to explore any genre of music on the cello while also teaching comprehensive cello technique.
