Stephanie Knapper is a freelancing cellist and teacher based in Minneapolis, MN. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Cello Performance at Minnesota State University- Moorhead and received her Master’s degree in Cello Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While in Moorhead, Stephanie started her journey of teaching private lessons and continued this in Wisconsin while teaching through the school’s Community Music Lessons program.
Stephanie teaches lessons to students of all ages and abilities. Her main focus is working with students both through the Suzuki Books and other comprehensive books. She found that this is a good system for the students to learn the notes on the cello and also have fun playing actual music.
Upon moving back to the Twin Cities, Stephanie now spends her time teaching lessons both at Modern Day Music and her private cello studio and she plays in several orchestras around the Twin Cities area including the Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra, Mankato Symphony Orchestra, La Crosse Symphony Orchestra and the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra. When she isn’t teaching or playing music, Stephanie loves participating in Yahtzee tournaments with her dad or going to get cider with her sister.
